Today's service included a report from Annyse Edment, Youth Church leader, and her staff on the year's activities in St John's Youth Church. Those young people moving up a stage in the Yoth Church were presented with gifts to mark the occasion.
Pastor Roy also interviewed Jamie Newton, who has recently graduated with a Law degree and is taking a year out, before starting work, to perform missionary and evangelical work.
Today's "Summertime Postcard" is based on the short book of John 1, "to a lady and her children".
Today, Pastor Roy started a short 4-sermon series entitiled "Summertime Postcards", based on some of the smallest pieces of correspondence found in the New Testament. This week, the postcard is from Paul to Philemon.
Today's service included the Sacrament of Holy Communion. In he place of the sermon, Pastor Roy presented the Communion Address given by the Moderator, Rev David Lunan at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, 2008.
