Just a stone's throw from Livingston, this circular walk takes in the Almondell Country Park en route to a great aqueduct on the Union Canal.

The route from the Mid Calder heads along a cycle path soon reaching the banks of the River Almond.  Continuing along this path, passing the ornate Naismith Bridge built in 1800.  Eventually we reach Lin's Mill aqueduct.  The aqueduct carries the union canal which runs from the Falkirk Wheel.

Leaving the aqueduct we eventually enter the Almondell & Calderwood Country and then back to our start in Mid Calder.

This walk uses minor road, woodland, sluice/riverside paths and cycle routes.  Some of these paths can become very muddy in places and therefore waterproof walking boots recommended.
