Leaving the car park at the Falkirk Wheel, we join the tow-path of the Forth and Clyde Canal and walk eastward, passing a "canal stairway" of some 16 locks.  We will keep on the tow-path, walking behind the Kelpies, until we reach the Kelpies Marina basin where the canal meets the River Carron and crosses over the canal into The Helix.  We'll stop here or for a picnic lunch and the best view of the Kelpies.

There is no shelter along the way therefore appropriate outer clothing/footwear is recommended in event of inclement weather.
