Parish Grouping News
The Parish Grouping development group have been meeting regularly to discuss ways in which we can develop the Church of Scotland in Carluke.
It was decided to share somem content in the church magazines, starting with this issue. Each church magazine looks the same as usual on the outside and there are some pages which contain articles which are relevant only to that one congregation, but the rest of it will be common to all the congregations. The editors of the three magazines will continue to collect the material and cooperate in the shared portion of the magazine. Please feel free to submit any articles that you feel will be of interest to your fellow Christians in Carluke.
On Saturday 3rd March between 80-90 children of primary school age enjoyed a wonderfully energetic "Fischy Concert" by Steven Fischbacher. Many thanks to the representatives of each of the churches who helped to organise this event.
The Holiday Club will return to Crawforddyke Primary this summer with "Pyramid Rock". A group of people from all three congregations are working hard to plan this exciting outreach event. Children of primary age are assured of a big welcome and lots of fun from Monday 6th to Friday 10th August.
The three pastoral care teams have been meeting to look at ways in which they can share their expertise and experiences.
Rev Helen Jamieson attended an Area Team Ministry Conference and gave a presentation on the Church of Scotland in Carluke. This was an opportunity to compare notes with other Parish Groupings at various stages of development. Our Parish Grouping differs from some others in that it is session led while some others are minister led. The afternoon session of the conference was attended by two consultants from the Church of Scotland and it was felt that it could be valuable to invite one of them along to our next joint session conference on November.
