Guild/Young Woman's Group

Our Guild starts back on the 5 October when the Rev David Easton, our locum minister, will be the speaker. Ena, our secretary, has contacted a number of speakers so we can look forward to enjoyable and interesting meetings.

It is so nice to meet up with our members and friends once again and it would be good if you could join us too. Remember, the Guild is for all ages and you will be made most welcome. We would really like it if you could come along and join in fellowship with us. Meetings are every Thursday evening from 7.30 pm until 9.00 pm when, along with the friendship and fellowship, our tea committee give you a nice cup of tea (or coffee) and a biscuit.

I would like to give a mention to our Young Woman's Group who, under the leadership of their President, Shona Keay, would make anyone most welcome and the "aunties" just enjoy looking after the children. Meetings are held on Tuesday afternoons from 1.30 pm until approximately 3.00 pm, but you leave in time to collect any of your other children from school.

Tenacious Trekker

Rae Warnock walked the West Highland Way (again!) at the beginning of the Summer. She writes:

“Many, many thanks to everyone who sponsored me for my walk. When all the monies are gathered in the total raised should be over £420. This will be a great help towards Sanjeep’s school fees. Thanks again and blessings all.”

Swelling the ranks for a joyful noise?

The prospect of a new minister in the (hopefully) near future and the continuing exploration of a relatively new hymn book spurs me on to a renewed plea for more voices in the "singing group" (alias church choir) on Sundays. With consistent commitment to a particular weekday practice night being a problem to many, we have started to meet at 10.15 on a Sunday morning - just about time enough to learn a new item or two before the service. If you are planning to come to morning worship, how about rising a little earlier and swelling the ranks to make a really joyful noise? No testing auditions can be expected - we are just looking for enthusiasm to make the Lord's praise more worthy of His name!

See you next Sunday?

Traidcraft

Our Church has a very successful Traidcraft Stall. I am now looking for someone to take over the organisation and running of the stall and to progress it further. This is a very worthwhile project and I hope it will be of interest.

Please contact me via the website for information and any queries.

Thank you in anticipation.
