Locum's Letter

Dear Friends

Where would we be without friends?

For me it was both a joy and a privilege to come back to St John's and meet up with so many friends once again.

Friends:

• who can smile, care and understand
• who support, help and encourage
• who stand by, and reach out
• who remember and pray

While I thank you for your welcome and all these other gifts, I hope I can be a friends to you also and I hope that as well as being a friend to others you also have many friends. It was a special joy to celebrate Christmas in Carluke - and my thanks to all who made the Christmas services special by their various gifts, music flower arranging, parties, organisation and by their generosity.

And now as we approach Easter we can realise once again - "What a friend we have in Jesus" who lived and died and rose again for each one of us - that we might have life in all its fullness both now and forever more.
