Holiday Snips
Earlier this year, Clara Kay spent a memorable holiday in New Zealand, where she was particularly struck by the Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo, South Island. This photo shows the view through the window behind the alter:
The Church of the Good Shepherd
A place of humble worship
Where all can kneel and pray,
The Church of the Good Shepherd
Is a refuge come what may.
Inside seems hushed with silence,
How I wish these walls could speak.
Yet this thought is surely conquered
As you view Mount Cook's white peak.
In memory of those people
Who lived the Alpine scene,
This hallowed little dwelling
Hosts pioneers unseen.
The solid rock-built structure
Blends with the lakeside shore.
A symbol for the future
May it last forevermore.
In the vastness of this vista,
It is comforting to know
The Church of the Good Shepherd
Relates to long ago
