My Testimony

Some months ago, Sandy Middleton shared his testimony with the congregation at one of our evening services with prayers for healing. What he said deserves to be read more widely, so here it is:

My life before I knew the Lord was a life of struggle, physically and emotionally. I had suffered from M.E. for seven years. I was tired, my body was in constant pain, I found it difficult to talk with people and I was depressed and there seemed no hope for myself or my family.

During this time my wife Norma started to go to church on Thursday mornings at St John's. After a while she decided to go on Sundays which meant I had to take her (no problem with that, just how would I stay awake). To my amazement I found myself hanging on every word, these stories from my childhood now came alive and I wanted to know Jesus more and more.

I made a decision to become a member of St John's but it was sometime later before I personally knew Jesus and made a full commitment. Norma and I decided to attend a healing service as Norma was in poor health. Every Friday for three weeks we went to the services and they prayed for Norma.

On the fourth week the Pastor and his wife felt they had to pray for me, as they prayed over me I felt at peace and had a sensation through my body and felt my spine stretched straight but not much else. Then on the Sunday morning, during the Remembrance service at St. John's, at the start of the children's hymn, 'One more step along the World I go' a large very heavy dark blanket was removed from me, I felt such joy, I laughed and cried uncontrollably much to Norma's horror.

How amazing, Jesus had healed me, that was four years ago, I'm now able to walk without feeling exhausted and breathless, the pain has gone and I recently started cycling again. I'm now more relaxed and able to talk with people easier again, and no longer need anti-depressants. I now have a full life serving the Lord and have great hope in all he has promised.

I put my trust in Him, life is still difficult at times, but I have Jesus to help me through it, because of Him I am now a NEW CREATION.
